Some senators have started compiling signatories to veto the President’ decision.

This was disclosed by Senator George Sekibo in an interview with Channels TV, as he stated that they have compiled 73 signatures to veto the President.

What the Senator is saying

He stated, “Senators have compiled signatures to veto the President,” adding that a two-third majority is the rightful requirement in the 109 member Senate to veto a bill into law.

The Senate said it will continue its discussion on the Electoral Bill in today’s plenary.

Nairametrics reported earlier that the President raised multiple issues regarding the conduction of primaries, stating that political parties should be allowed to freely exercise the right of choice in deciding whether direct or indirect primaries to adopt in the conduct of their primary elections.
